She earned her PharmD from the University of Texas Health Science Center and then pursued a specialized Nutrition Support residency at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans’ Hospital. Most recently, she completed a MS in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy with the University of Florida. Prior to joining the Regis University, Dr. Brooks was President of ProEd Communications, Inc. Dr. Brooks is now the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice in the School of Pharmacy.
Dr. Brooks' teaching philosophy centers around the values she brings to the classroom. The most important aspects of her teaching philosophy include authenticity, student-centeredness, inclusivity, and leadership by example. Her integrity and honesty light my teaching path in working with our students. Every student has the potential to make a difference and she wants her classroom to be exemplary of this opportunity to lead patients and colleagues to experience and deliver better healthcare for all, respectively. Dr. Brooks' areas of academic and research interest include misuse/abuse of opioids, the secondary effects of opioid misuse, and leadership and team-based learning. Dr. Brooks enjoys helping students become aware of and explore nontraditional career opportunities in pharmacy and healthcare overall.
